Lightsey Family Scholarship - Administered through Ripley House Neighborhood Center, Houston, Texas

Serving Graduating High School Seniors from the East End of Houston since 1984. The Scholarship Fund’s mission is to assure that those with drive and motivation, financial need, and potential to succeed -- not necessarily the best grades -- have a chance to attend college.

For students in the Austin High School, Milby High School, and Cesar Chavez High School areas of Houston, Texas, only.  Students who attend other schools, including East Early College High School, and live in the Austin, Milby or Chavez areas, are also invited to apply. 

Application Deadline:  Postmarked no later than April 28th, 2012.  Applications must be mailed. Interviews will be conducted on May 19th, 2012 at Ripley House.

In 2010, 17 scholarships were awarded to students from Austin, Chavez, Milby, East Early College High School and YES Preparatory High Schools. 

In 2009,  19 scholarships were awarded to students from Austin, Chavez, Milby and Yes.
